Project 52 | Week 5 - SOOC (Straight out of camera) Vs. Edited

This week's theme involves a photography technique I am really fond of: HDR Photography. I only just got into this kind of photography a little over a year ago. I recently looked back at my first attempt at HDR, and I can really see how far I've come! Behold, the first attempt (not too shabby!):

Practice makes perfect!
So on to this week. The first three images are the images I took straight out of the camera. I then use a program to edit them together to create the final image.

This scene looks familiar! It's from the Upside down series I took from Week 3. I always sharpen all my images, adjust the levels (etc), take out unwanted color casts, and straighten out the framing. (Or anything else that might need edited).

This photo is from Holcomb Gardens at Butler University. In the edited version I took out the ugly blue construction wall by removing the color. This way the eye isn't drawn to it.

The final photo for the week was taken at Turkey Run. (My favorite state park!) If I'm shooting a fall scene I like to make the reds, oranges, and yellows pop by increasing their saturations.
